Why orange? The AdvenChair & HeliLadder iconic color

In 2010, five years after a near-fatal brain stem stroke left Geoff Babb in a wheelchair with only limited use of one hand, the future AdvenChair creator would chat with Dale Neubauer on a soccer field in Bend, Oregon. While their kids played, Geoff was already talking about modifying his wheelchair to be a more rugged, all-terrain chair, and Dale was growing a company specializing in high-quality aviation workstands.

Fast forward to a challenging Grand Canyon adventure—when the prototype broke down, Geoff knew it was time to bring in some serious expertise. In 2017, Jack Arnold, a designer at HeliLadder, came into the AdvenChair picture. Thanks to the collaborative spirit of Dale and Susie Neubauer at HeliLadder, by 2021, the first production run of AdvenChairs rolled out of the HeliLadder headquarters–built for adventure and ready to take on the toughest trails.

Now, as The AdvenChair Team prepares for the 4th production run, one thing remains unchanged: the custom Heliladder Orange color. Originally chosen for visibility on helicopter landing pads, it also makes it easier to spot an AdvenChair out in the wild on a rugged mountain trail or deep in an urban jungle. Safety, durability, and adventure—wrapped up in one bold color. It’s through partnerships like these that have made all the difference!
